I never finished college. Just out of high school, I was working at pipe supply company making $5 an hour and going to school at night. I decided then, if I was going to make the kind of money I wanted to make, I had to start my own business.
At the age of nineteen, I bought an airbrush and moved to Panama City Beach, FL. I knew nothing about how to airbrush much less make money at it. So, the path ahead of me was not easy, but I had a burning desire, a desire to learn how to airbrush. Not only did I want to learn how to airbrush but I wanted to be an airbrush professional.
This move put me right in the middle of great airbrush artist. Some of the best airbrush artist in the world. I had surrounded myself around legendary airbrush artist, Tim Mitchell, Pat Gaines, Pat J. Reynolds, Lance Slaton and Troy Pierce, just to name a few. I was fortunate enough to work with these airbrush artist for several years. I developed my art and drawing skills.
After 8 years living on the beach, I decided to move back home and start a family. I did not know if I could make a living as an airbrush artist in Birmingham, but I was willing to try. I opened an airbrush t-shirt shop in a local shopping mall. This did very well for a while. But eventually I had to close the shop because of deteriorating traffic in the mall. I was forced to go into another business. I never stop airbrushing or gave up my passion for it.
